Getting started
How quickly can I install 1Consent?
The setup flow scans your domain, suggests relevant compliance frameworks, and produces a single <script> snippet for your site's <head>. The time to production depends on your review and deployment process.
Do I need any third-party tools to use 1Consent?
No. The CMP, scanner, vendor list, and analytics are all part of 1Consent. You can plug it into Google Tag Manager if you already use one, but it's not required.
Can I try the platform before committing to a paid plan?
Yes. The Free plan is permanent and covers a single app with the core compliance features. You can upgrade later without losing your configuration.
Billing & plans
How are page impressions counted and billed?
Each page load where the CMP initializes counts as one page impression, independently of consent choices and optional analytics. Free includes 10,000 per month and only shows an upgrade prompt above that amount. Starter includes 100,000 and Pro includes 500,000; paid plans continue serving and bill €5 for each started additional 100,000 page impressions. Reaching the included amount never blocks the CMP.
Can I switch between Starter and Pro at any time?
Yes. Before you confirm a plan change, the billing page previews any amount due now, the next charge, and the recurring price. Subscription cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current billing period by default.
How are payments and taxes handled?
Paid plans use Stripe-hosted checkout with Link express payments. Under Stripe Managed Payments, Stripe is the merchant of record and applicable VAT, GST, or sales tax is calculated at checkout.
Compliance
Which privacy frameworks can I configure?
1Consent lets you configure GDPR, IAB TCF, and US privacy experiences. You choose a global fallback and optional country rules; at runtime the CMP resolves the published framework using those rules and the available location signal. The configuration supports your compliance work but does not replace legal review.
Is consent stored as a legal record I can produce on request?
The consent service stores an immutable event with a received timestamp, a pseudonymous consent ID, the decision type, the consent string and its SHA-256 hash, and the framework type. Customer-facing consent-record retrieval and export are not yet available; the dashboard audit log tracks configuration activity and is not a consent-receipt viewer.
Are you a data controller or a data processor?
The role depends on the processing activity. For visitor consent records processed on your instructions, you are the controller and 1Consent acts as processor. Review the applicable data-processing and international-transfer terms before deployment.

Yes. Starter and Pro include AI-generated custom themes. For control over CMP layouts, component structure, and styling, add Custom CMP designs with 1CL for €10/month.
Can multiple team members manage the same configuration?
Yes. Starter supports 1 additional member with shared access. Pro includes the Owner plus 5 additional active members; each started pack of 5 more costs €5/month. The built-in Owner, Admin, Privacy Manager, Marketing, and Read only roles are included.
How do I roll out a configuration change without affecting my live banner?
Free and Starter let you preview changes before publishing directly to Live. Pro adds a staged workflow: publish to Staging, review the banner, then promote to Live with an audit trail.
